Gilgal Chardonnay 2009

Located in the coolest and highest part of the Golan Heights, Gilgal vineyards brings rich wines full of flavor. The Chardonnay 2009 is sweet with a taste of melon, apple, pear and pineapple. Aging for four months in oak barrels, results in a rich wine suited and attractive for everyday enjoyment. The Chardonnay is good for drinking for about four to five years from harvest, but why wait when it’s ready to enjoy now?
This wine pairs so nicely with Salmon, or any lite summer style dishes. I don’t drink Chardonnay as much, but during the summer we enjoy fish more than anything which switches us from Red to White wine.   The Gilgal wines brought a nice change to the normal wines we drink, you can taste the rich fruit, yet not be over powered by it at all. There’s no bitter or lingering taste for this wine. We enjoyed the brightness of it, and it was so delicious with our Salmon burgers we had the other night. When you pair up good wine with good food, you’ll be surprised at the flavors that come out, makes the taste of both pop in your mouth. Very enjoyable, I would most defiantly be picking up this Chardonnay again to enjoy with some company.

You can check out the different wines on their site, the 2009 Gilgal Chardonnay ($15.99), 2007 Gilgal Merlot($15.99) -I love Merlot- The Gilgal Brut ($18.99), and the 2007 Gilgal Cabernet Sauvignon ($15.99).

*Disclosure- I was given the mentioned products listed above from Gilgal Wines , in order to write an honest review. I didn’t receive any other compensation. Any and all opinions are my own. Major thanks to Gilgal and their wonderful wines! **
