Who's up for Mojitos?

Had my first Mojito on my birthday this year in February.  I will drop my number at the big 31 with no shame. Age really doesn't bother me, it's what you do with it, how you live- how you spend your day and life! Do you stop to smell the roses, do you stop to listen to your kids? Do you drop to the floor to play a silly game with them? That's what matter's not the age part of it. I'm getting away from the drinking part of this post, but the point was, age doesn't matter, it's how you use your time.

I was lucky enough to finally get out last month. We get out maybe once a YEAR. Yeah. Once a year. It's either a birthday , mine or my husbands or our anniversary , but this year I got out and it was supposed to be celebrating me walking again. Sadly that didn't happen around my birthday. I was still in a great deal of pain.  Those who have stuck with me know I broke my hip in November, YES, 31 and broke my hip! (technically 30 when it happened but that's besides the point)
The point, once again is to live. To try new things, to enjoy! I'm not a drinker, I enjoy wine that's my drink. My husband told me I would love the Mojito so I went for it.  Ordered stuff I never would have ever ordered before. Lobster, crab, stuffed this, buttered that. You better believe I ate like a Queen that night. Cake to boot, but alas, this is about the drink. I loved it, Mojitos, yumm!

On to the recipe, on to the drink!
I have fresh mint in the garden so this recipe was really fun to make. I had no idea so much went into such a small little glass!

Ingredients

1/2 teaspoon confectioners' sugar
1/2 lime juiced ( juice one lime)
1-2 sprig fresh mint ( bruised not sliced)
1/2 cup crushed ice
2 ounces white rum
4 ounces carbonated water
1 sprig fresh mint for garnish

Directions

In a highball glass, stir together the confectioners' sugar and lime juice. Bruise the mint leaves and drop into glass. Fill glass with crushed ice and pour in rum. Pour in carbonated water to fill the glass. Garnish with a sprig of mint & Enjoy!

Before I ended up with candida, I would indulge in these every once in awhile.... Now... doesn't happen. They are very good though.
