Crock-Pot Recipe Challenge Day 5: Swiss Steak

I’ve been after a Swiss Steak recipe for awhile.  Tried many in the past years and they just don’t seem to come out right so when I found out there was a slow cooker Swiss Steak, I just had to make it!  Best thing is you can make tons of gravy with all the juice from the slow cooker. Gravy, nommy nom nom!

I added a chopped tomato into the crock-pot as it was cooking. Added a little zing!
Ingredients
 3/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon pepper
2 2/2 pounds boneless round steak
1-2 tablespoons butter
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup beef broth
1/3 cup water
1 cup celery chopped
1 cup onion chopped
1 garlic gloved minced
Directions
In a shallow bowl combine the water, pepper and a dash of salt. Cut the steak into six servings. Dredge each piece into the flour while you heat the butter in a skillet. You will brown each piece of steak in the skillet before placing into the slow cooker. Combine the remaining ingredients and pour it over the steaks. Cover and cook on low for about 6-7 hours or until the meat is tender.
Gravy- if you want thicker gravy you can thicken it up in a pan on the stove. Just heat the juice from slow cooker and get it to the boil before you stir  in some flour. I sprinkle a handful as I whisk and keep it at a boil- keep whisking!  It will thicken real fast.
