Crock-Pot Recipe Challenge Day 7 : Garlic Beef Strogannoff

I completely forgot to put in the Worcestershire sauce in this dish, sure enough as soon as I tasted it I knew something was missing. Bet if I had remembered to add it in, it would have added that extra zing needed. Even without though it was still a winner, everyone liked it! The dish served 8 people and we still have tons of leftovers so this would be a great family dinner meal.

The meat becomes super tender as well after cooking so long so it was really enjoyed!

The creamy white you see through the dish is the cream cheese.

1 beef bouillon cube

1 cup boiling water
1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
2 cups mushrooms
1 large onion chopped
3 garlic cloves minced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
1 1/2 to 2 lbs rough steak trimmed or stew meat
1 package of cream cheese
Hot noodles ( don’t cook in slow cooker) Just cook before serving
In a slow cooker pour in the water and the next five ingredients. Place in the cube of bouillon , then the beef mix up the best you can. Cover and cook for about 6-7 hours or until the meat is tender. Before serving cube up the cream cheese and mix into the slow cooker till melted and combined.
Serve over noodles and top with sour cream, garnish with chives.

I love crock pot recipes for this time of year because everything is so hectic and busy! I don't eat meat myself, but this would make a great dish for when we have family in town if it made eight servings AND leftovers for you! I bet my relatives would love this one, so thanks for sharing it! 🙂

Too bad I do not have a crock pot–but I am single and wonder if I could make this for just myself-with just a little left over. It really sounds delicious.

This looks great. Worcestershire sauce is something I use quite a bit when cooking and it really does complete many of the dishes with beef.

I ate a lot of stroganoff when I was little. My mom was always making it. Now, my husband doesn't like it so I haven't made it, but this sounds awesome. I may need to make it next month when he goes out of town…
