Sweet Treat Friday- Glazed Carrots
My kids ask for this recipe by the name “Special Carrots”. They adore them and no special dinner or holiday meal is complete unless these glazed carrots are on the table. I use lemon peel instead of orange and sometimes I’ll add just a hint of lemon juice in with the brown sugar. You can’t go wrong with these simple carrots! This recipe is from my Mom so many thanks 🙂
Glazed Carrots
Ingredients
1 1/2 lb. Fresh carrots
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp. Salt ( I always omit the salt)
1/2 tsp. Orange peel
2 Tbsp. Butter
Directions
Cook all but the carrots together until mixture is bubbly. Add in the carrots and cook. Stir occasionally on low heat until carrots are tender.
I cook this in the oven for about 30-45 minutes until tender. Cover your dish with foil and cook at 350F.
In a pinch if you are making only a small amount of carrots this dish will cook in the microwave well.
Simple and easy, the kids never turn this dish down, Enjoy!

My Journey With Candida
I love glazed carrots… only I have to use xylitol in place of the sugar.
Following GFC and Pinterest. I also voted on the fence. Didn't see your twitter but I am @CandidaJourney and will follow back.
