Crock-Pot Recipe Challenge Day 14: Baked Apples
This was a really fun recipe to do. The kids helped prepared this after I cut the apples so it’s easy and perfect with a side of homemade ice cream. The kids didn’t like the idea of caramel sauce so I didn’t make much at all. The apples were sweet and they said it reminded them of apple crisp, but I think it was more like Apple Pie with a bonus of warm oatmeal.
Ingredients:
6 Apples
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon
4 tablespoons butter . Cut into 6 pieces
Combine oats, brown sugar and cinnamon together in a small bowl. Cut out the centers of your apples, getting the core out seeds and center. You want to make a bowl. Whatever good apple pieces you have mix in the bowl with the mixture you already have. Place mixture into each apple and top with a piece of butter and press down a little. Place apples in slow cooker . Cover and cook for 3 hours.
The original recipe listed caramel sauce which you can add in of course but I left it out. I tasted really great!
Enjoy!

This looks yummy but I can't eat apples since I'm allergic to them unfortunately but the kids and hubby would really enjoy this. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, wow! I have some apples in my fridge that I was planning on using to make an apple bread, but I think I have a new idea in mind! My husband has to work late tonight, so he thinks we are just going to order takeout, but whipping up a meal and serving these as a dessert would be such an awesome surprise! 🙂

These baked apples look so delicious and wholesome. I would serve these on a cold fall evening.
