Homemade Lip Balm
Fall through Spring my lips get so dry I can go through chap-stick like crazy. No matter what I’ve tried it doesn’t seem to work very well, or last that long. Why I haven’t thought about making my own Lip Balm is beyond me but the recipe has been sitting around my house just waiting to be made.
What you will need
Small containers to store the lip balm in. I used these clear plastic cosmetic containers from amazon.
Measure spoons
Measuring cup to pour
Double broiler
Ingredients
1 cup shaved beeswax
3 tbsp coconut oil
1 tsp vitamin E oil
2 drops tea tree oil
Directions
Using the double broiler ( or simply put a saucepan over a pot of boiling water) Melt the beeswax. Once it’s melted add in the coconut oil and melt. Remove from heat. Add in the other oils mix and begin to pour into your containers. Let sit and cool before covering.
Easy, quick and it works better than anything I’ve picked up at the store. One application lasted for hours on end even through eating. Worked on my daughters dry lips as well. I was able to get 20 5 gram containers filled

My mom used to make amazing homemade lip balm. I wish she'd get back into it! Love your recipe, the tea tree oil would be fantastic for winter skin issues. If you made this in a larger tub, it would also make a great foot balm!

I've never thought of making my own either. You make it look so easy. My lips get dry and cracked in the winter as well so this would surely help.

I think making our own lip balm is such a great idea. I'm always losing the ones I buy so it would be great to have a personal stash

Speaking of dry lips… Mine get so bad they crack in the corners. It gets worse the more the heat is on in the house. Thanks for the recipe… I am going to try it when I can find some time. Where did you get your beeswax?
