Lunch Box Challenge Day 2: Pizza Lunch Fun
Let’s face it, sandwiches can look boring , day after day same old thing. You could throw different meats in there and it will still be boring, same old – same old. My kids sometimes bring half their sandwich home and their excuse is one or two things “We didn’t get enough time to eat.” or “I didn’t like it.” Now considering I know what my kids like , and I make sure to put their favorites in the lunch box I know that’s not the reason. What I do notice is the way they say it. The “I’m bored” tone and who cares outlook about it. Kids get bored they sit and let their mind wander wasting their lunch time and not eating all at once.
Now you not only have a hungry child on your hands but they will not be able to concentrate in class which just brings on a whole handful of troubles you do not want. Hungry kids equals restlessness and frustration while they need to be focused and that results in a note sent home. No one wants that to happen!
Is there a rule that says lunch must be boring? Nope, so time to make it fun for the kids again! You make it fun, you make them want to eat it , and it doesn’t take a whole lot of time. This is frugal , quick and easy and the kids will love it.
Kick the bored out of lunch time and make some Pizza Lunch Fun!
What you need for the pizza-
Small Pita bread
Shredded cheese, you can do either Mozzarella or a mix like the four cheese blend (it looks more fun!)
Tomato sauce
Choice of meat or vegetables
Tomatoes sliced small
Extras for the Lunch Box-
Put the ingredients in little containers, use some muffin cups even to make it fun and colorful.
The kids can assemble their own pizza’s during lunch time at school and they’ll want to eat it because they just made it! It’s fun, it’s easy and you’ll be the rock star parent for it. That’s a mighty big win in my book!
Today’s Lunch Box Tip- Keep portions small but have enough for the kids to pick from. You don’t want them to have a load of extra food leftover that may go to waste. Having too little though can leave the kids hungry during school. A couple small portions of both vegetables and fruit, possibly a side like granola, and nuts even gives them enough to fill up on yet with little to no waste to worry about.

What an original way to switch up the average lunch! My son loves these kinds of meals he would rather have this than a sandwich any day!

Okay, I love the lunch. But I am really amazed at the ingenious idea of using the silicone muffin cups to create your own bento box out of an ordinary tupperware container! My kids will love this.

My kids are grown but this is a great idea. I wish I would have done these type of lunches for them when they were little.

That is too cute. I love how you packed the toppings in silicone cups. I would never have thought of that.

Eeeeeep! Thank you for bringing my kids a much better looking version of their favorite Lunchable! My son will be begging for this tomorrow – and are those silicone cupcake things or paper ones?

This is a creative and healthy lunch. Too bad my boys are so darn picky that this most likely wouldn't fly – but love the idea. 🙂

I would never believe I was going to get all those cute dishes to come back home with my kids, but I do love the idea of pizza.

Very smart and cute idea. I'm sure the kids loved it and their friends went home asking their moms to do it. So you might not be popular with them. LOL
I love it -

This is great. My kids would totally enjoy making this. Something for them to try. They seem to enjoy their food more when they make it themselves. Thanks for sharing.

I always found making school lunches to be the worst part of kids going back to school. It was hard for me to step out of the box when it came to this. You are doing a great job!

What a fun idea! Paige loves Lunchables, but I'm not willing to pay outrageous prices for what little processed junk you get. Going to have to try this one!
