Chocolate Almond Protein bars
Today’s recipe is a Protein Bar! Busy bodies going left and right, whether you work out or not, you’ve got so much crammed into a day you need something to help fuel you between meals and on the go. What better way to get in your daily protein than with a Chocolate Almond Protein Bar? They taste like peanut butter and chocolate- who doesn’t love that?
- 1/2 cup Almond butter
- 1/2 cup honey
- 3/4 cup oats
- 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
- 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips
- Heat the Almond butter and honey in a small steel frying pan until mixed and creamy, keep stirring while it heats to avoid burning. Once it's creamed and easy to stir remove from heat and add in the oats and protein powder. If the powder isn't mixing well use about a teaspoon of water at a time until you can get it mixed in. no more than a full tablespoon used all together or the bars will not hold together. Once the mixture is completely
- * Nuts are optional but make a great added crunch and taste! Just layer them on top, either whole or chopped while the chocolate is still warm
- * You can use Hazelnut butter, or peanut butter in place of Almond.
- The protein mix I used was a Sprouted Brown Rice in the flavor of chocolate by NOW Foods, you may use another flavor you have on hand.
- * protein scoops differ, I found the average to be 25-30 grams

I can so do this but of course without the almonds since I’m deathly allergic to almonds. Did you know that just looking at it causes me to gag? I had to scroll really fast. 🙂

WOW! These look like candy but if they have the protein in them, it would be like getting a boost without having to give up taste! Like the ones with the almonds on top. Now just need to find the chocolate protein powder and away we go! Thanks for the idea!!

I know for a fact that I don’t get enough protein in my diet. This would be an easy way to make sure I am getting enough.
