Recipe Challenge Day 4: Homemade Fruit Roll-Ups
Snacks should be healthy and fun. You can even have a sweet healthy snack and feel great about feeding it to the kids! Which brings me to today’s fun, EASY and a sure win with the kids.
Homemade Fruit Roll Ups . I am excited to be able to do this , and can’t wait to try new versions of this with different fruit. It does take awhile to make but I assure you it’s simple. The most work you do is wash, peel, cut and press a button on a food processor.
To make the Fruit Roll Ups
This is so simple to make and only one ingredient
You will need the following to make this
- two baking pans
- parchment paper to line each baking sheet with
- spatula
- food processor
Ingredients
4 mango’s, peeled sliced and pureed ( You actaully need 4 cups of puree, so use how many mango’s it takes to get that many)
Preheat oven to 175F. Line your baking sheets with the paper. After you puree the fruit divide in half , about 2 cups per baking sheet. Pour the mixture out, spread evenly then bake for about 3-4 hours. It should be pliable and dry to the touch when done. Remove from oven and place on wax paper. Cut into strips then roll each up. Easy to do and the kids loved them! I will be making different flavors with different fruits sometime down the line so I’ll share when I make them. Enjoy!

No way!!! Homemade fruit roll-ups…I want some! I need a new food processor but I keep putting it off and then I forget. I bet these are tastier…and healthier, than the ones in stores!

This looks pretty simple. It looks like the big thing is getting them dry and pliable.

I tried these a few months ago and couldn't get the mango to dry up. I had them in the oven for almost 6 hours and it just wouldn't work! Next time I do this I'll make sure to spread the puree extra thin… I want this to work for me.. so I guess I should just try again!

I really need to try this. My husband loves fruit roll-ups like this, but they are SO sugary! I think these would be much better, and you could experiment with flavors, too!

I do not have a food processor or I would definitely attempt to make this. I happen to love fruit roll ups myself (can I hear it for apricot). At least you know for sure that there is no added sugar or other additives in these since you are making them yourself!

I really like this idea and can think of so many different ingredients to use. It also saves money since I'm sure making your own is much more budget friendly.
