My Review ~

With a great career in his hands and the love of his life by his side Andre Shaw had everything he every wanted. He had roots, roots that ran deep and strong when things seemed a little shaky. It was how it was meant to be, and he was perfectly happy with it. Andre was certain he had everything he wanted and needed, but those strong roots were suddenly on very shaky ground when Violet Vancroft, the woman he wanted forever in his life up and left him. Broken and lost Andre took a better look at his life and tried to move on, by literally moving on. Maybe there was something to the nomadic life Violet lived after all. He could up and leave whenever he needed and head to the next part of the world , but what happens when the nomadic life lands him before the one thing he was always seeking and never knew? Would he turn around and leave like she had him? Or would Andre plant new roots for a chance at a lifetime with the woman he never stopped loving?

Violet grew up everywhere. A life on a the move with her mother, she has seen so much and learned much more along her journey , and one thing was for sure, she wanted nothing to do with settling down in one place. Not when there was so much out there to still see. The nomadic life takes it’s risks though, a risk of losing the love of your life. Violet knew Andre had a life, a career and one that wasn’t on the move. He needed a woman who shared the same roots as him, and she was not it. As much as it hurt, Violet knew things would end up ending sooner or later, so when she heard from a sister that she barely knew, she left and headed to Cape Cod. Violet wasn’t sure what to expect but it certainly wasn’t the idea of actaully setting down roots herself, the very thing she never thought she’d ever want.

With her life twisted around in unexpected ways, Violet wasn’t sure where things were headed now that she was set in one place but she certainly hadn’t planned to come face to face with the man she’d left and find out she wasn’t the only one that had changed. Neither Andre or Violet deny their connection or love for another but the same issues stand in the way, one has a nomadic career and the other fixed roots. As secrets and fears come to light, Andre and Violet must decide if their passionate love for each other is worth it, or if they truly meant to go their separate ways. What an enjoyable book! I loved how things kinda flipped between the two characters, almost like they both lived in each other’s shoes. It was nice to read how their lives unraveled in such unexpected ways. Violet grew up one way, and Andre another, yet both ended up switching for the life they hadn’t ever known. Their journey by themselves and with each other opened their minds and hearts to what could be. Great read, I highly recommend grabbing a copy of Sweet Escape at Bayside, you will enjoy!
