Easy Slow Cooked Sloppy Joes

I found this through Recipezaar.com a few years ago, now I guess the site is down so I’m not sure about the name of it. You can do it in the slow cooker or stove top, it really doesn’t mater. I love the zing of taste that you can’t ever find in a tiny pouch mix. Such an easy one to do too, my kids never complain about it. 🙂 We like to add peppers in there as well but you don’t have too, it’ll still taste great without them.

Ingredients

1-1/2 pounds ground beef
1 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 bottle (12 ounces) chili sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
8 buns

Optional*
One red and green pepper diced up
One diced up jalapeno pepper
Just toss them in the slow cooker if you want them in.

Directions
In a large skillet, cook the beef, celery and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Transfer to a 3-qt. slow cooker.
Stir in the chili sauce, brown sugar,  relish, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours or until flavors are combined. Spoon 1/2 cup beef mixture onto the buns.

Enjoy!!
