Creative Writing Prompt for The Kids -Week 2

It’s been over a month since the kids had last been in school and I do find myself scrambling to figure out what to do somedays. Mornings are for gym class, they didn’t like at first but now have really gotten into it. They spend some time on the school districts website going through a few things their teachers have set up for them after that. These are not graded in anyway but at least it’s giving them something to learn.

For a couple years during the summer I’ve always turned to edhelper.com to create some really cool work packs for the kids, they have all grades and you can customize them in several ways. Monthly themes are great, and there’s always some fun activities that you wouldn’t always think of yourself in there. A great help for any parent! I had heard about this website from a teacher actaully so it has been a great help over the years, even more now that we are all finding ourselves becoming a teacher.

I thought I would help those like myself who can’t always think up of things for the kids to do with a weekly writing prompt. Each week I’ll add a new one for the kids to try out! This weeks prompt is

Time Machine!  If I had a time machine I would……

Encourage them to be creative! Who would they talk too? Where would they go? What would they like to see and why? I don’t normally ask for a certain amount of words to be written just ask for a full front sheet and at least half the back, usually the kids always come up with much more. Have fun 🙂
